Champion80
If the OC (which is the one reporting to the CRA's) has that address I had deleted for their file and I dispute it again, will they be able to verify because they will have an address that is no longer on my CR???With that, I tried to call EX and have them delete the address, the girl I was dealing with was a little B&%*, she said, sir that address is there because it is tied to your old Wells Fargo account.Have any of you had any luck getting old addresses taken off your file? I hope this works with this particular creditor because they are one of my major headaches, I have investigated 3 times, DV'ed them with a lawyer, got no response, and I am now stuck on getting them to remove the file!! willingtocope
I have not had much luck getting addreses deleted that are still tied to an OC's reporting. I even have a couple that aren't addresses at all, but more like routing numbers for banks that have held mortgages. I have disputed them, but basically have gotten the same response you did.Unless I'm missing some "magic words" to include in the dispute letter, I think that as long as the address is tied to an active TL, it stays... willingtocope
I'm wondering if the differnce is mine were tied to an OC...they tend to keep better records and also have a need to "punish" bad debts. If the TL was tied to a CA, then maybe their records weren't quite as good...

Champion80
Well hopefully it works , I am actually taken two differnt actions with this company, I started emailing the higher ups after I did a google search, and only 1 has come back unable to send, so I hope they will just respond, I quoted section 623 of the FCRA, and told them how much trouble I have had getting the proof that I owe the company, and if I do or do not get a response I will take them to small claims. The deletion of address tactic might work only for one, I havent spoken to EQ yet to delete the address and I do not know how helpfull they are, like I said, with EX, I had no luck, she quickly and rather rudely said, that address is attacked to such and such card, but TU was rather helpfull, and I just deleted all kinds of informational things, like I asked who it was showing as my employer and it said an old restaraunt I used to work for, and i said, oh thats wrong, I am self employed, and now it shows self-employed.But the main reason I am asking about this deletion of address tactic is when the CRA sends request to the OC or CA dont that have to also validate the address, and if so, they will say that particular address and it will not be a prior address...Is this what you think may have happen for you GPRNCSS?My Fico's1/2004 1/2005EQ- 441 EQ- 555EX- 495 EX- 628TU- 469 TU-
retmar
Most OC's report by tape on a monthly basis. Any information from the account since the beginning will appear, such as an old address, or name. The best way to handle this is to contact the reporting party and ask them to update their file so as only your current address shows. This has worked for me. As to names, write the company involved and explain to them you only apply for credit with your 1st name, middle initial, and last name. Therefore, you can only assume that one of their reps took it upon themselves to shorten your name or cause this error in some other way. This does happen alot, especially when you order something over the phone. The rep will note the name as Bob when you tell them it is Robert, or Cathie, when you tell them it is Catherine. They do this because they are only alloted so many minutes per consumer. It also happens when you call them to correect a problem or ask a question. True, many will call you Mr. or Mrs., but, will also call you by your shortened 1st name and note same on their notes. In short, call the OC first before the CRA. efish
I have had a little luck. I called EQ and disputed all my old addresses that most of the CA's had and my previous last name. The lady I talked to at Equifax was very pleasant they all came off, including the name. I then disputed and got two judgements off and a CA off! No OC though. I am going to try that next with EXperian.
