aints68
Even though the sol on my account is past, I'm thinking they may still try to sue. I need to get a dv there quickly. Since I work for a shipping company, I get great rates on overnight. My question is will a confirmation of delivery and tracking number be as concrete as a greencard from certified mail. Any help on this will be appreciated. Thanks
reno2360
Why would it not be? It may be better as those systems often are able to actually have a copy of the signature itself. Go for it.
retmar
As long as you will have absolute proof of delivery, including a signature of a CA rep, you will be OK. Myself, if the expense is over $4.42, I would consider the CMRR over your company's charge. It may only be a day or two difference. If you are sure the debt is timebarred, as you say, do not waste time with a DV. All you need to do is send them a full C&D letter that clearly tells them you are aware the debt is timebarred and they have no legal recourse to the debt, that in some states it is considered fraud and/or extortion to attempt collection, and that their client may be held liable for their actions. If this is a debt buyer, just omit the reference to the client. Be sure and include you are also filing complaints with the FTC, AG (yours and theirs), and any other governing agency.
