Is there anything I can say or do to change their minds? Are there? Is there a good reason: Mortgage hunting, car shopping? If you can call and explain they may just approve. On the other hand if you have been applying for a ton of revolving credit you don't have much room to explain as they would be concerned about running up a bunch of credit. Thomas1096
Well,The truth is that I've been working on my credit to get the best loan that I could for a house. A 30 year loan with a higher rate will cost you alot. What I did was apply for 5 cards to see which one I could get. I talked to the support of each company to find out if I was accepted would I have to activate the card. SO I was going to take the best one for me of the ones I was approved for.It was to build my credit up with the thought in mind of saving thousands on a home loan. Did you find your scores yet from My fico. This will tell you who they pulled too. Let us know your score and where all the inq.'s are and maybe we can offer some more sound advice. However, I would tell you if you are house hunting in the next 6 months a ton of new revolving accounts will NOT help you. The new accounts will drop your score temporally. If your out a year or more go for the new accounts as they will age nicely by then. Just remember to keep the balance south of 33% of the limit for maximum score advantage.

cabledude
How many Inq.'s on EQ? Score looks pretty good there. How many TL's are listed there? Are they over two years? Reson I ask is that AMEX green is usually pretty easy to get so long as you have a few good TL's with about two years of history. They generally pull EQ, I stress GENERALLY. This is a charge card and must be paid in full monthly. However, AMEX will consider you for CREDIT products such as Blue with some good history with green. My first card with AMEX was green with about a 630 Fico. They later approved me for $5K at first for blue cash (about 660 FICO) and after 6 months I'm up to $15K CL with about 680 FICO.MBNA is also a good card with high limits, but they usually pull TU. With a 595 FICO I would wait till your about 640.Just my two cents.

In the Christmas holidays, I did apply for some credit cards. Those total 1... so it looks like five from November - Feb.EQ has alot of trade lines: 1 revolving and 7 installment. THe revolving is open, an 2 small loans are open. 1 loan is scheduled to be paid for this year. The total of the balances equal 7,000. My Credit card is only about 190 of that. The TL's go back to 1997..That's it with EQ..Thanks for taking some time with me on this.

I have seen some folks on here get approved in the high 500's and you are over that. The only thing that may get you is the 5 inquiries since November. To solve that, if it still works, is some good ole bumpage. Usually works on EQ and TU. Sign up with PG or MCK and pull your reports daily for one low annual fee. The soft pulls eventually bump off the hard ones on TU and EQ. That is if it still works. As an example I would bet my TU reports were pulled HARD about 16 times in the last 12 months. However, I only have 4 showing that were done over the last few months. I can tell you that a creditor would look differently at me with 16 pulls vs. 4....... cabledude
Actually, I got turned down for AMEX green card today. HOWEVER,I just got off of the phone with EQ and they have removed all of inquiries..... Including the AMEXDarn!!!!!! I thought you had a winner on your hands. Good news on the inquiries though. I will caution you on calling CRA's about removal of inquiries if you get APPROVED. On another board someone was approved for a Providian card and had a nice limit. He called the CRA and had the inquiry deleted. Good News, NOT! They notified Providian of the removal and his card was cancelled. So just be cautious on cards you eventually get approved for when calling to dispute inquiries. You may want to look at applying for an Orchard card from HH bank. They usually have good starter cards. One other thing you may want to try is for some gas cards. Chevron, Exxon, BP. These are generally good starter cards and do not cost you a ton to start up the TL like the Cap ones and First Primier's of the world.I am also going to recommend you visit creditboards at http://www.creditboards.com/forums/. Check the credit forum out and look at the credit approved sticky at the top of the page. There are 42 pages of approvals on there. I suggested a sticky here like that before and it just did not happen. Maybe I asked the wrong person? You should be able to match yourself up with a lender that will approve your situation. YMMV, but it is worth a look see.

Champion80
Hey there. I have never done this but if you in fact did get all those inquiries off your report, and both AMEX and CHASE denied you for those reasons, you should be able to call them back, is there a number on the letter, discuss that apparently when they ran your report you werent aware but someone had been applying for credit, those inquires have been removed because they were not mine. I know on denial letters that I have gotten, it says if any of this is incorrect, you can dispute with the CRA etc, and send us an updated copy of your report, and I think call as well.. try it let me know if it works, I just got more negs off my report and I am considering this as well. BY THE WAY....GREAT JOB ON THE SCORES EDUBB
nativechild48
Be happy you got turned down by Chase, as they are known ratejackers. IMO you should get your true scores from Experian and Transunion as banks like BOA, and most credit unions use those two CRA's a lot! Good Luck!!!
