Iotaman
Just got off the phone with Equifax today. On feb 2 I faxed them a copy of a court disposition on a case when Portfolio tried to sue me and the case was "non suited". From the start i was adament that the card was not mine.. any who I mailed with RR and faxed a letter..Weeks go by and no removal so today I call..they tell me because its a collection they need information that the charges are not mine from portfolio themselves they cannot accept them from the court...I less than a month from closing on my home and I'm going for this B.S...How do I go about Suing Equifax..since they are the only ones reporting it.. Just go to the courthouse with the address I have used to mail disputes or what? Please help!
c m chase
I would actually be screaming at Portfolio. They are the ones who reported the account...they should take it off. I'd be threatening to sue THEM. CEO - Steven Frederickson (sfredrickson@portfoliorecovery.com)Gen Counsel - Judith Scott (jscott@portfoliorecovery.com)Manager of disputes - Michael Benedict (mrbenedict@portfoliorecovery.com)Assoc General Counsel - Cynthia Robbins (crobbins @portfoliorecovery.com)I'd email all of these folks with a stern letter telling them to remove this puppy or you'll sue them for the amount of the house you're going to lose because of them.
