The Mountain
I have a bunch of medical collections on my credits reports. I noticed a special note posted on my TU report, it says -If any item on your credit report begins with 'MED1', it includes medical information and the data following 'MED1' is not displyed to anyone but you except w3here permitted by law. Before the name of the original creditor on the collection 'MED1' is displayed all of the medical collections.Does this mean these whole collections arent shown to those viewing my reporting, or the original creditor is not show to anyone who views my reprt? Does anyone have any input? Thanks.
gprncss
If any item on your credit report begins with 'MED1', it includes medical information and the data following 'MED1' is not displyed to anyone but you except w3here permitted by law. From my understanding, it's not that it is not displayed to others but the personal information following, that is what is not displayed. Do you have a PG account or something else? Pull and see, if you see it, then it shows to everyone else as well.
The Mountain
sorry I do not have pg. I think your right, it only blocks the info reported in the colum after MED1, in the case of my TU reprort it is only the name of the hospital reported after MED1, possiblily it may be used it u have to see like a specialist or something you did not want a everyone knowing about, something life threatening or very personal. gprncss
Exactly. The personal info is hidden from othersDo you at least have a credit mornitoring account with some other site that allows free trials and also lets you check your report everyday?PG does that, Creditkeeper.com also does, I think they have a better deal going right now, you can cancel the account afterwards. Even call customer service just before the trial period is over and say something like you cannot afford the service right now, they can extend the free period!
