DPK99
Ok, where do I begin. I am starting to reach the point of disgust with the entire credit reporting system and I'm wondering if legal representation would help. This is because my father and I have the same name and address. But I will leave that alone for now.I currently subscribe to Experian's Credit Expert. I pay a monthly fee for that service, and I have a question about the credit score. It has not changed for months now even though I have gotten some discrepencies removed. I called the technical support department and was patched through to India where someone just read from a card with a super thick accent. This happened twice as I was hoping for a clearer response the second time I called. From what I gather, there is a problem with their credit score system and they apoligized. I think I was told that it might take several months for the scoring system to get back to normal. Now, that's all well and good BUT what the heck am I supposed to do if I want to know my current score?I have some serious problems with the credit reporting agencies. Mistakes get onto my report all the time and I have to pay to check it for something that's not my fault. Unless I am unemployed, denied credit, or experiencing possible fraud I am not able to see my current credit report for free to check for their mistakes. As I said, I will leave that issue alone for now though. I'm gald I found this place so one thing at a time.
miracle
I am curious.. Have you called the CRAs directly and told them what is going on? What was their response? -jenn
DPK99
By CRA's does you mean the agents at the credit bureaus? If so then I have talked to them in the past and supposedly there is something that says on my report to be aware of the same name and address. It hasn't helped, at least in Trans Union's case.I suppose I should call all three bureaus back and request that another note be put on the report... but then I don't know if I will be able to get ahold of someone without a current report. Grr.
Motormouth
One thing that might help you in the future would be to get a P.O. Box for yourself and start changing your addresses - then it would be different from your fathers and you can dissassociate your credit from his.Just a thought....MM
crofttk
...what the heck am I supposed to do if I want to know my current score?...Certainly don't sweat getting your Credit Expert score.Purchase any one or all three FICO scores (and use the coupon code 2005fico to get 20% off -- works as of 2/27/05) at myFICO.com if you want the only USEFUL score you can buy.MOST creditors look at a FICO score to evaluate applications.
