RedDog
I have a 30 day late pay with Providian from 11-2001. I have disputed the account many times with the CRAs as not late, etc... It was last "verified" 12-2004. Now they won't dispute anymore. (I closed the account in 2002)Does anyone know how long Providian keeps records?I was thinking about requesting copies of my statements for "tax" purposes and seeing if I was "truly" was late Thanks,RedDog
score booster
If a 30 day late from 2001 is your biggest fish to fry you should relax, kick back, and crack a cold beer!!!! No seriously, that is not really hurting your credit at all. If that is the worst delinquency on the acct. you run the risk of them deleting a perfectly good TL. If that happens your score will likely drop. Leave it alone.
RedDog
Not the biggest fish just one of those PITA that they keep verifing even though the account has been closed since 2002.As fas as losing the history, I will not lose sleep over it because I have 15+ pages of good history to cover it.I closed the account because Providian was such a PITA as far as posting payments, sending statements out in a timely manner, etc....I'm working on this 30 day late along with previous addresses, employers, etc.......Here's to 'ya RedDog
c m chase
They'll keep the records for-freaking-ever. I had a CO in 2001, which they sold. I sent a CYA letter to them last year and they sent me back every statement, my application, and copies of checks I'd paid with. They keep gooooood records. score booster
I have heard they've cleaned up their act big time in the last couple years, though. I keep getting offers for a no annual fee, 16.9% card from them. I also hear they're generous with credit limits. I might just take them up on it and never put much on the card.
