Husker
Got an amusing (to me) letter from Sherman Acquisition/Capital Management Svc in the mail today. They must be getting tired of sending me letters and making calls that I am not home to answer.Last fall it was an offer of transfering the balence of my alleged debt of $2500 to a visa card and with regular monthly payment and the low, low interest rate of 24% pay off my debt and rebuild my credit. I so ungraciously did not accept their offer.Today I received an offer to settle for $1024, half within 10 days and the other half 10 days after that. Wish I knew if the sale of my farm was going through soon, I would counter with a "pay for delete" for $1024 in one payment. I had been thinking about offering them $1500 for a "pay for delete" before I started reading this forum. Have to wait and see what happens. Any thoughts? Husker
LOL Actually after doing all the reading on the forum that I have I was actually planning on DVing them first and carry that through as far as I could. Pay for delete is a last resort, but at least I have a letter to go back to them with if I need to.
Broke Chick
The "credit card" is FRAUDULENT!! (Never mind loan-shark usurious with its interest rate. )See budhibbs.com for more interesting detail.www.budhibbs.comwww.budhibbs.com/Sherman%20Acquisitions.htm
nevermore
To the best of my knowlege Sherman doesnt do pay for deletes. They actually tell their collecters it would be illegal . You could still try if you want, but it's unlikely you'll get it removed that way. Good luck.
