Husker
About 6 months ago I finished paying a Judgement to Citifinancial through a garnishment. This is a quote from the letter I received, dated 10/30/04 from Citifinancial when I had satisfied the judgement. “This letter is to acknowledge receipt of your final payment, which pays your account in full. We will notify the three primary Credit Reporting Agencies to update their records accordingly. As this is a manual process, we ask that you give the agencies sufficient time to update their records.” Here is how my 3 in 1 report reads as of 2/7/05 Equifax: Has 3 different listings for the same debt. Each listing is for a different office as it went from their local office to collections to the main office that filed the judgement against me. Monthly payment, Date open, High Balance agree on all three listings. Account #: 607439553030XXXX Acct Status: Closed Balance: $0 Past Due: $0 Remarks: PAID CHARGE OFF Payment Stat.: Bad debt & placed for Collection & skip Account #: 607336583031XXXX Acct Status: Open Balance: $7140 Past Due: $1264 Remarks: Unsecured Payment Stat.: At least 120 days or more than four payments past due Account #: 607336583031XXXX Acct Status: Open Balance: $7140 Past Due: $745 Remarks: Unsecured Payment Stat.: not more than four payments past due Experian: Has 2 different listings for the same debt. Account #: 607439553030XXXX Acct Status: Closed Remarks: N/A Payment Stat.: Paid, was charge-off Account #: 607336583031XXXX Acct Status: Open Remarks: N/A Payment Stat.: Past due 180 days TransUnion: Only 1 listing for debt Account #: 607439553030XXXX Acct Status: Closed Balance: $1 Past Due: $0 Remarks: Profit and loss writeoff Payment Stat.:Charged off as bad debt Any suggestions on what I should do? Looks like I need Citifinancial to remove the 2 accounts that show open and paid or pays as agreed with no reference as a charge off on all 3 CR. Question in regards to the Charge off, can the same office charge off the account and then turn around and sue for a judgement? I did talk to one of their reps the other day, he said that it might take 3 - 4 months to change. He did indicate that they would send it back through. Talking to him about the open accounts, which was like talking to a brick wall. I did go back and look at the date of last activity and even Transunion showed 11/04 which should have been the notice from Citi that everything is paid off.Are there any violations here?Husker
Methuss
Dispute to the CRAs as duplicates. Should be no problem. I've never seen a consumer get a hard time over removing dupes.
