When should I start this process?

I am wondering when I should start sending my disputes and DVs? Had the sale of my farm gone through when it was suppose to, I would be in the middle of moving right now. I was going to start sending my disputes and DVs after I got moved and settled in.

Since my sale didnt look like it was going through or was delayed at least a month, I have been getting ready to start sending letters to the CRAs and CAs. Now it looks like the sale might go through in a couple of weeks, but nothing firm. I did have a new place to rent lined up, but may lose that if my sale doesnt go through soon.

The question I have is, should I go ahead and start the process if I have time and have my mail forwarded to my new address if I am moved when the responses come back? Or, should I hold off till I am moved and know for sure what my new address it?

I would hold off with the CRA disputes. The CRAs may use the discrepancy in addresses to sand-bag you on the disputes. The CAs, on the other hand, I would deal with now. The clock is ticking on the 30 days to DV them before they can assume the debt is valid. Mail forwarding won't matter with the CA, but it will with the CRA.

How long should I wait after I have moved to send my disputes to the CRAs? Would it be advisable to call in and update my address before mailing the disputes or will they want some proof like new drive lic or utility bill before accepting a change of address?

You will need to update your address on your license in order to get the new address on your report. Most DL facilities will require you to bring in a piece of mail to prove your new address, so this should not be necessary with the CRA (it's already been done).

Above all, patience grasshopper. Dealing with the CRAs takes time and persistance. Every time you contact a CRA you have to wait up to 30 days for them to respond. Be methodical and the repair process won't be as painful. Most people who run into trouble (myself too in the earlier days) just tried to do too much too fast and that made things more difficult with the CRAs.
