My FICO..woo hoo!

Just checked my FICO score for Equifax. It's 669 and that is with my BK still being on there. Grrrr The other 2 CRAs have let it drop. Is there a way to get EX to take it off, too. I will try disputing as "not mine", I suppose.

But I am pretty happy with that score. I was really expecting it to be quite a bit lower. It says if I pay off my credit cards...which I do every month...my score would jump to between 709 and 749. Wow! Big jump considering I have a very low balance. Anyway, does anyone know how many points I could gain by getting rid of the BK? It is 8 years old, so it will be dropping off in 2 years, anyway, but I would like to get rid of it before then (of course!) Also, my lien that I am disputing is on there. Since I *honestly* do not believe it should be on there, I'm hoping it will be no problem to get rid of it.

700 here I come!!! Heck, I just may shoot for 750! :D

What happened to the other two scores when the bk came off? Unfortunately the score usually drops when a bk falls off. Because your file looked ok to fico for someone with a bankruptcy, but now it's compared to everyone else. I've heard of people with an 8 or 9 yr old bk with an 800 score, the bk falls off, the score drops to mid 700's. A good reason to shoot high!

Oh, shoot. I hadn't thought of it that way. :? I guess we'll see what happens if/when it comes off. I don't have the other scores to compare, yet. I just paid to get the one FICO score and I ordered PG today, so I'll be able to see the FAKO scores soon. I may order the other 2 FICOs just to see what they are. Thanks for the heads up. I probably would have freaked if you hadn't warned me.

Awwww...thanks everyone. My hubby and I just took the kids driving around looking for land to build on. We realize it will be a little while before we're ready to build, but at least now we can dream. Up until 2 weeks ago, we wouldn't even let ourselves think of building because it was just too depressing. Now we can actually see light at the end of this long dark tunnel we've been in!!

Thanks to everyone here!!!

My BK came off and I lost 50 pts due to age. SUX, but I know it will rebound!

Yikes. I'm not looking forward to losing 50 points. But, I do have several "little" things that I can do to hopefully make up for it. I was approved for another card, too, so that will help my usage rate. Sometimes I just wish I could fast-forward about 8 or 9 months. lol

Thanks!

Like I said, it was due to age. I had gotten all of that bad crap off my bureau and others upgraded to PAA....when my BK fell off, my age of credit was avg 2 years....on a 40 yr old! That is what killed my score. Current payments for a time and All will be well with the world!

Well, my average age of credit isn't going to be much better. We decided to NEVER let ourselves get back into that situation (we were young and stupid...now we're older and slightly less stupid...lol) so we paid for everything with cash. If we didn't have the cash, we didn't get it...period!! Now I have a couple of cards in my name and I'm working on getting hubby one (plus adding him to mine as an AU), so we are on the right track. I have been very good at paying them off in full every month. Hubby does not have access to the cards because I don't trust him quite yet. 8-)

Anyway, good luck with aging that credit. Like I said before, oh how I would love to fast forward a few months. Waiting is killer!

Waiting is a killer, but patience is the key. Great job! :D

LOL...patience is NOT my strong suit as you can probably tell. BUT...I am trying. :)

Try disputing your bankruptcy as "wrong date". Since it was so long ago, they might just delete it because the court records are probably purged anyway!

Oh, good idea. I will try that. Thanks! I have another account to dispute that IS the wrong date (should have fallen off last year), so hopefully it will work with that one, too.

Thanks again to all you wonderful people. It is so great to see everyone working together to get their goals accomplished.

***Big pat on the back for everyone!!***
