payinbills
I'm in Florida. CC sol is 4 years I'm told.Chase N.A charged my account off in 11/2000 per credit report. And have stopped reporting all together in August 2002. So SOL should be up....but...Before I found this site, and learned all this great info. I called them and agreed to pay the full amount through 3 monthly payments. I even sent them the first payment, but have since cancelled to check to pursue other avenues of resolution (mainly getting it off my CR, not so much not paying)Am I screwed?Payinbills! retmar
It would be better to check your state's laws to be safe. Some here have said that it must be a written agreement, while others say a remittance will suffice, and others say that if you agreed verbally, depending on state law. retmar
Try Revised Statutes, Code of Civil Procedures, and Civil Code. I'm not sure how your state lists the laws, but, in California, I typed in California State Law, and was taken to a list of references. I then clicked on one near the top and it took me to a page that showed all of the laws. I then decided where to start by the titles. Then came the part where I had to sit and read until the right one appeared.
