SevenBagels
Hi all,I sent a dv letter to a CA about a medical bill I occured in 2003 in the amount of $723.The CA validated the bill and now I would like to settle. The book is not clear enough (for my poor little brain) about how to procede with this.Shall I settle with the CA or the OC?Shall I first call to settle or shall I send a letter?Would $400 be too low to offer? Thanks for any advice.
codename_fortyseven
First, how did they validate the claim? Second, why settle anything without a written promise to delete the collection account from your credit report? A paid CO is just as bad as a CO score wise. Unless you are going to buy a house, I don't see the point.
SevenBagels
Hi bigcraig,Thanks for responding. You are right, I need to have them delete any trace of the account. Tha's where I need help with. The medical service was delivered on the 06-09-03.The account was reported to the CA in Dec 03.I sent two DVs, one on April 2004 and the other in May 2004.They CA verified the account end of June 2004. codename_fortyseven
Did they send you something that you signed saying you owe someone else money?
SevenBagels
They sent me a copy of the permission treatment and billing for medical treatmentt that I signed back then.Isn't that validation?
