Champion80
I signed up for my first CAP1 in November, I was a little excited then I got to tell you, well that was because I thought I was making it up in the Credit World, well then I come to find out they have no limit reporting, and now 3-4 months after I got the card I called and asked the reps if I am ready to review my account for a CL increase, they said no, well when I first got this card, my main questions was when they will review it for an increase, so I asked to be transferred to someone that works in that department, So I spoke with this lady for about 20 minutes, she gives me some bulls$^# story about how 9/11 caused them to only send out balance transfer CL increases, and currently I wasnt on the list, so I told this lady, who had said she was there for 7 years, that I am part of a massive community that is not happy with Cap1, and we as 1 consumer may not be able to do anything, but as a whole, we could do some damage. So I would Start talking in your meetings. I would actually encourage others to do the same, and talk about how many of us there are, and if we always speak to a supervisor, eventually we would have spoken to all the supervisors and then we they bring that up in their next meeting that might raise some eyebrows... ..... LETS ROCK!!HEY I thought I started a POLL where is it?
CreditDiva
The impression I got from talking with CAP 1 supervisors was that they are doing you a favor by eve giving you a credit card. I have not have a credit limit increase since they sent me a a card about 3yrs now), ,instead they sent me two gold cards, and a plat. with varying CL on each ? (go figure?) ,but refusing to consider reducing APR which was my second request. I paid off one of the gold cards last year, just paid off my other gold card, and will pay off my plat this month, and then I am done with them..they really don't try to do you any favors..I am done with them.. mmmagique
They doubled my limit when I tried to cancel.I talked to one guy and told him I wanted to cancel, he couldn't talk me out of it, so transferred me to someone else. They offered to double my limit, couldn't resist and stayed.I really did want to cancel then though...
twolf9246
Is that they send you offers for better cards, then when you apply (at least when I did), they sent me a letter back saying I was already a member and couldn't have another card. I did that twice--two new inquiries. I guess I should have learned the first time!
Champion80
Well, I want to keep them for about 3-4 more months anyway, but in the end there no limit reporting can take us down a few points, for example I ran the What is simulator on my EQ report an paying off a $400 balance raises it like 8 points, that doesnt just happen on any card. What are you scores?? Did you run a consumer report while you were on the phone with them to give you double? Do you know? Or maybe they were just desperate to keep you as a customer. booger69
If you really want to teach crap 1 a lesson do what I did. Pay off the balance in full every month. That way they end up "loaning you" money at 0% interest for almost 50 days if you time it right. I did get rid of my crap 1 card last year because they wouldn't drop the BS yearly fee. Now I have a platinum providian card with a lower APR, no yearly fee and they just upped my limit without me asking (they didn't tell me they were going to do that!) mmmagique
I think my fico at that time was around 650, it happens to be considerably lower now Maybe I called at a time when they were getting lots of cancellations, I don't know.Christina
