CreditDiva
I have one CO acct (10K) with a CC, which is due to be deleted 10/2006, the SOL has expired I noticed the acct # they report to the CRA is completely different than the acct # I actually had with them...which should invalidate any verification they might respond back to a dispute ( is it normal for them to have different accts # once it goes to collection status or is this an error on their side that I can ding on also?) If this has been bought by a CA, I have never heard from them and nothing reports on this acct besides the OC..so if I start disputing it based on this one discrepany I am afraid it will awaken a sleeping giant..so should I just wait it out ? gdouglaslee
How is it that you know what you know? Are you getting this info on-line or from a credit report? If you didn't mail a check or money order to a credit bureau and get something in the mail from them then don't do anything until you do.The fact that the account numbers are different suggests that it is a junk debt buyer, not a collection agency. Big difference. You should be able to find the corresponding account from the original creditor. If you can't then it's possible the account was re-aged by the junk debt buyer. When you get your copies of your credit report, you'll most likely find some things you can dispute and use that to get if off of your CR earlier. CreditDiva
yes...I got copies via PG, and then got scores through myfico which is when I noticed the discrenpany but don't see a CA reporting to tango with just the OC with the tagline..the thing is that I have a current account with the same CC now that is in good standing so if I dispute this older acct hope it won't affect my current acct
CreditDiva
Long story short - A number of years ago, I was an an employee of a privately held corporation and given this CC - Amex Corperate card to use for travel expenses,I left about 2 months before the company went bust. Amex filed the this 10K as a charge-off on my personal CR, I learned, that because I signed the back of the card, I was personally held liable for any charges associated with this card. I have not been successfully in getting removed from TU or EXP,even after providing them with the same doc. that I provided EQ, where it has been deleted now. And, have docs + old CR. where DOLA say 9/98,same amt but different acct # - I compared the acct's # being reported, and DOLA is also 5years later than when I left the company ,so the acct. looks like it was also re-aged. I cannot find the CA,not listed on CR,but will see who Amex sold the balance to,isn't the inaccurate acct #,+ the attempt at re-aging enough to get this deleted or should I be DV Amex first and follow through that process?
