Tirem
My bill was due on the first of feb but I did not pay bill (with creditor's approval) until the 28 of feb. However, I noticed that the payment was reflected on the 1st of Mar. Nevertheless, the creditor posted the item on my credit report for past due 30 days. Question-since Feb was only 28 days and my payment was made on the 28 but posted on the 1st, do I have any chance for it to get removed based on the fact that Feb had only 28 days this year and I did not pass 30 days? DREPDOM
Ok how did you make that payment? You can try to dispute it was 28 days pass the due date not 30 days and that they are reporting inaccurate.
Tirem
serious post please. My question was geared toward the time limit. On the CR it stated 30 days past due but actually it was not.
DREPDOM
And is the day they received the payment, not the day they poste it.
crofttk
I certainly would discuss with the creditor first since you had their approval AND you have a technical point with the 28 day thing. It's the creditor that reports to the CRA and getting them to fix this on a good will basis certainly seems doable.Save the hardball approach for a dispute with the CRA in case the creditor renegs on the approval you said they gave you.Technically, I agree with your logic, but you never know what kind of finger sniffing chimp at the CRA will handle your dispute. Tirem
I spoke to the creditor today. The lady I spoke to was very nice but said that there is nothing she could do. Any suggestions?
crofttk
1) Escalate to a supervisor and2) Go ahead and start dispute with the CRA
Tirem
I disputed the item via experian and it came back in 2 days as being verified. I called experian and asked them about the process and was told that it was automated. I explained the same situation and they claimed that it was up to the creditor and not them. I guess I will try a goodwill letter. what do you think?
