if random companies are still allowed to pull soft inquiries. Maybe I am wasting energy being angry about this, but I OPTED OUT so no one could get undue access to my credit report. Now Experian has sold my info to someone.

They aren't supposed to be able to - that's the point of opting out - the CRA's sell limited info on you to companies who sign up for their marketing list.

It does not, however, keep companies you currently do business with from viewing your files.
