Hi everyone,

Just wanted to say thanks for all the advice. I've been lurking for quite some time and recently a relocation has forced me to take matters into my own hands with our credit situation.

Let's just say that 2002 and 2003 were VERY bad years for us.

Anyway when I first spoke to a mortgage officer he advised me that we had too many "issues" to even think about qualifying for a new mortgage.

I took your advice, ran our reports, started disputing like a crazy person and when the CR's said the investigation was complete, I disputed them again and again and again and again .... the result ....

12/2004: TU 554 up to 602

EQ 537 up to 639

EX 578 up to 632

The only "real" issues that remain are 3 paid collection accounts. I'll be sending them DV letters today ....

My biggest problem now is two late house payments in September and October of last year ...

I was able to obtain a mortgage, but HOLY CRAP .... My letter of approval states that I'll have to buy down 2 points and pay 8.375% .... I'm thinking I can do better than that ... MYFICO.com says I could be paying less than that.

Does anyone have any suggestions about mortgage companies in Florida

who can work with someone with less than stellar credit and not rip them off ???

Thanks again.

Welcome Gold!!! :) Glad to see you came out of Lurkersville :D

You may want to either post this in the mortgage forum... or talk to Charles (aka Firstsource) or Bruce (aka amortgageman) They are the mortgage smartypants and should be able to point you in the right direction.

COngrats on the great progress you have made :) Keep up the Great work! Good Luck! -Jenn
