Rant section of the post:

Been doing this for almost 3 months now. Relatively good luck so far. TU  - who USED to be my favorite - isn't doing a darn thing for me anymore. No deletions from last round of disputes. EQ  hasn't responded to my 2nd round of disputes... and they have 2 days left. EX is my best score so far but has CAs the other 2 don't.

Haven't sent any DVs as yet. I wanted to see what I could get off simply by disputing before I put myself out there. I realize now that was a mistake, but that was life pre-CIC.

Sears is off, but I still have NCO (ugh), Midland (ugh x10), and Orange credit to go. I dont even want to talk about American Agencies. Orange has stopped responding to my settlement offers - and they ain't no small potatoes; I'm offering almost 60% on a fairly old debt (its past SOL).

Question:

Since I have disputed pretty much everything I could already (nothing disputed back-to-back... I disputed everything only once) once I send out DVs and dispute, am I going to get that "frivolous dispute" BS back from them?? I've seen the ways to handle that, I'm just looking to see what to expect.

TIA

Val, it wouldnt be any fun if you got everything deleted without a little brain work 8-)

Well, it looks like your to DV time now, I have actually only ended up DV 2 accounts, the rest I just decided to call and I had set in my mind, whether it took 1 call or 10 I would get the letter with my settlement. You know as well, you may get some of the CA's to sell your CO's once you DV, I know others have talked about this situation, and if and when that happens you will get a letter from the new CA, and they will not report yet, then you could easily call up with a sob story and settle, just make sure you get them to send a letter stating the payment is considered in full, the debt is fully satisfied and will never be inserted into your CR.

Make sure all your current CA's have your current address just in case, that way you will get the letters. But for those that keep them, make sure you look for the mistake I think a few make which is not reporting as disputed, but all in all go hard core on the phone until you get the settlement with a letter of delete, I know you can do I have faith in you..

Remember, sometimes you just have to talk with a supervisor give him your sob story, another strategy I think we have talked about as well was the end of the month settlement. I do not know if all CA's reps make commission but we do know some do, so settleling accounts to get their numbers up may be your ticket. I am sure a combination of these things will work, some one way, some the other. I bet if you go hard at it on the phone for the next month , and you got the cash to back up your settlements now, you will get it done..

Remember my latest victory when it seems impossible, SBC had assigned a CA just 9 months ago, I called when I first got it, I got in a huge yelling match with the CA's little floor scrubber (they are trained to make it seem like you have no options so you give in), I ended up calling right back spoke to a sup. I told him paying it would do nothing for me now without it deleted, he said well its against our policy to do that but, off the record we will be selling your debt in 9 months, and when they get it, you can settle with them before they put it on the account, I kept that in my notes, called back exactly 9 months later. So, who did you sell my debt to?? New rep says..we do not do that uhhh...daahh george. So I say look, I really want to pay this debt, but it will do nothing for me unless its deleted, help me out, I convinced her to have the supervisor look at a couple CC statements with my new address I had dating back about 3 months before the last charge for SBC. My old roomates didnt pay (my bad for leaving it in my name), so your situation may not exactly be the same, but I remember back when I had to verify my address with someone last year for something else, I scanned a copy of on to my computer, and changed the address, looked perfect..and worked. Start thinking..
