Valkyrine
You could try to approach the OC. If they have sold the account, they will probably just refer you over to the CA.If you offer to settle with the CA, get the CA to agree that the CA and the OC will both remove their negative listings. It can be done, but it ain't easy. They nay say that they can't conatct the OC... thats a crock. The CA probably paid pennies on the dollar for your debt, so they don't really like to do anything extra to get their money. If they just won't agree, there's always goodwill letters to the OC, disputing repeatedly until it comes off, etc.Oh.. I wish I started reading Forums earlier... Could avoid so many mistakes.. NefertitiX
Val, I contacted the OCs...because I knew if they'd charged it off they couldn't sue me and I'm close to or past the SOL in all cases. So, at the risk of stirring something up, I send letters to 4 OCs...One deleted their tradeline completely (FirstUSA Bank). One sent me a letter saying they had no records but wouldn't remove the listing. Well, I sent that to the CRAS, the BBB, the AG and the Comproller of the Currency. We are negotiating them removing the derogatory comments on the listing since they can't prove them (who thought a negative listing could become a good one). The other two have been a bit more reluctant but the payment histories have been deleted so they're at least not at negative and I'm still working on them. Usually they don't have the records so I think as long as you are comfortable, its worth a shot. Good luck!
ktg
Thanks guys! Will definately try DVing this damn MBNA (OC).I am really mad with them - they reported totally wrong account number on my CR, and when I disputed with CRA's as "not my account" it was verified, but now all 3 CRA's show *** instead of account number (not a single digit).
