Statutes and Experian Report

Recommended Posts

I just got my Experian Report online and, after the initial shock of the mess I saw, I had a question regarding SOL and what the report states. Does the SOL toll when the debt is listed as: Date Opened, Date of Status, Reported Since or Last Reported Date? I have three entries that have a Last Reported Date of 1/2005 when the date opened was 1997 and I have not talked to any of these people ever. There are two from an Asset Acceptance which lists I opened two accounts in 2003 when I haven't applied for any credit from anyone since 1997 because I am repairing my credit. If anyone could clear up the SOL issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

Asset Acceptance is a CA attempting to collect on an account that an OC has written/charged off. You didn't "open an account" with them, they bought your account from the OC, and the "date opened" on the CR is when they obtained that account.

The SOL begins when your account with OC became delinquent or the last time a payment was made on that account.
