Evidence in the sample letters

There is a section showing sample letters to creditors on this web site. It is a very helpful site.

However, there was some advice given on one sample letter that instructs that evidence be provided along the letter.

It doesn't matter if you find the sample letter I am talking about above. I just have a general question:

Is it safe to send evidence like Federal Tax Returns to the creditors/ collectors so that s/he could see that my income was very little and hence stop pursuing her/his money. My income for 2004 is well below poverty.

If it is not safe to give sensitive information like tax returns to creditors, then what kind of evidence do people generally give along the sample letters.

Thanks

Give them NOTHING!!

Don't ever send tax returns or any kind of information like that to anyone!

If you can't pay them, you can't pay them, period!!

Don't talk to CA's on the phone, they will try to make you feel bad and intimidate you.

If you just want to get them off your back and stop bugging you, you can always just send them a full C&D letter. In there note that your income does not support paying them any amount and all assets are exemptable. Most CAs will not file suit unless they can identify some way to be able to collect if they win.
