I have pulled my credit reports and noticed an Alltel telecommunications trade on my reports. i sent a letter to Alltel in which i never heard back from them. I called Alltel today who informed me that nationwide credit owns the account now. i called nationwide about doing a pay for delete, in which they told me that Alltel has to delete it b/c they do not report to the bureau's. i called Alltel back and spoke to the same lady i had spoken to earlier who said this was a wireless account. i told her it was a residential account and willing to pay if they sent me something in writing to delete once they got payment. she said they could n't do that, that nationwide would have to. i've been getting the run around all day about this account. finally the lady at alltel said call nationwide back and dispute the account as never having wireless service with alltel, then it would come back to them and would zero it out from reports (delete). i asked why is alltel on the report and not nationwide she said nationwide should be the one reporting, although their are 5 different steps starting with nationwide, but doubted the trade could be deleted. So i call nationwide back, and thye tell me to call MCI. okay what does mci have to do with account at all? i really don't understand, nor was it a wireless account.

what do i do next, being as though they will not respond to my pay for delete letter or delete once i called to pay. this account has been on my reports since 3/05 and also a duplicate account reporting date 12/04.

if alltel sold to nationwide, why is alltel reporting to the bureau's when they say nationwide does the reporting once they sell the account to them.

i need some good advice or a letter to use for removal.

if i pay this collection account being so new this will not help in bringing my scores back up correct?

Thanks In Advance,
