Corrine
The CRA's are beating me. Experian ticked me off last week and now Equifax is getting to me. EQ is reporting seven accounts. I disputed two because they are the same accounts and both are reporting incorrectly as unpaid with a balance still owing. I disputed two others because they were also duplicate accounts. I just expected that they would remove one of them and let the other remain.I get my notice that all the acounts are verified as reported, blah, blah, blah.... then I start looking at the actual information. EQ report says they have no contact information for any of the creditors and they do not have account numbers either. I called EQ (which I advise others to not even bother doing) initially just to ask about contact information. Apparently all information is obtained through osmosis. Then I asked about the account numbers and tried to explain that at this point I would just be happy if the duplicate accounts were removed. No can do, you see without account numbers there is no way to tell if they are duplicates or not. So wahlah.... everything stays.A half hour after my phone call myfico alert goes off. Hubby's EQ score dropped two points apparently because he has a bitchy wife.
divemedic
That is because you really won't have much luck fighting with the CRA. You have to go after the source- the furnisher and you have to be willing to sue them if all else fails. That has been the case in my experience.
