disney Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 I have had my Chase card since Jan 05 and I am already above 50% usage due to a major purchase and a balance transfer. Is it to soon to request a CLI? I am trying to get down to 30% usage.
miracle Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 Some people have success with calling shortly after obtaining the card as far as increasing their CL. I, and many other people prefer to suggest waiting about 6 months from when you recieved the card to ask for the CLI. I guess you could try it.. the worst they could do is tell you no. good luck! -Jenn
edubb007 Posted March 15, 2005 Report Posted March 15, 2005 CHASE is tough. Good luck!Make sure to see if they pull a hard Inq too....
disney Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 Well I took a chance and requested the increase and I got it. He asked me how much I wanted and I thought that I must have misunderstood him . I told him that I was afraid to go to high so I took $1000. I asked him if I was applying to soon since I just got the card in January and he said that you can request an increase whenever you want. I see now how you can end up with thousands of dollars of credit card debt. It is just to easy to get an increase. This is very scary.
jq26 Posted March 17, 2005 Report Posted March 17, 2005 did they do a hard inquiry? If not, then I might follow your lead!
disney Posted March 17, 2005 Author Report Posted March 17, 2005 When I checked my report on MyCreditKeeper I did not see an inquiry. So I am assuming that they did not do a hard inquiry.
