clig_fred
Are credit union credit card compamies are more important to pay off because they belong to the federal gov.? Some people think they are not really a federal credit card company; it's just a commercial name just like citibank!!In other words, if you could not pay all your creditors, it's important to pay off the credit union companies first. This is because they have the word "federal" in their name, and hence they are not private companies?
willingtocope
Not at all. "Federal" in the name of a credit union does mean they're associated with the government and does not carry any special significance (other than they're advertising that they're insured by the Federal insurance system.). No real reason to treat them any differently than the rest of your creditors...except perhaps that being locally owned and operated, they may be a little easier to deal with.
