Lady_Yo Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 What can one do if the OC refuses to negotiate and tells you to call the law firm they hired as debt collectors? Do i have the right to refuse to deal with 3rd parties? This is a dicovercard account. Location Orlando, FloridaYo
divemedic Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 DV the attorney. You are better off dealing with CA than OC. FDCPA covers CA not OC
workinninetofive Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 I agree its much easier to get a CA off your butt than the OC. Are both, Discover & the CA on your reports?
Lady_Yo Posted March 16, 2005 Author Report Posted March 16, 2005 Only the OC is in my report but since is discover and i doubt they will back off i think in the end i will have to end up settletling or something. I sent dv to ca and now i am waiting to see what happens.thz to all for ur help. I will keep everyone informed of this saga )Yo
ghacorp Posted March 16, 2005 Report Posted March 16, 2005 Your chances of negotiating with DISCOVER are better with one leg in bankruptcy court! If you're gainfully employed or own assets odds of a reduced settlment diminish.
