J Miller
Well, the wife and I had our meeting with the atty yesterday in regards to the possible BK we are going to do and to put it blunt, it was "buisness as usual" for him. It really is not a stressfull thing at all. We asked questions and he answered them. Simple as that. A CH7 will run about 907 including all fee's, so I don't think that is too bad. A CH13 would be a little more, but we will decide which route we will take after we return the paperwork on income, assets, etc. (geez is there a ton of paperwork!)He did mention that he certainly is not looking forward to the new BK law.For those on the fence, make the move and talk with an atty. Once the new law passes, the world will rotate on a different axis and it is definately not in the debtor's favor....-J
jq26
well put. My experience was not unlike yours. The attorney was friendly, non-judgemental, and helpful. The total BK cost me $600 for everything, but $900 is still in the ballpark as far as I know. I was in and out of his office in 45 minutes. I dreaded going in, but felt like I unloaded a 1000lb gorilla that had been on my back for years.
