ggluvbug
my hubby and i each have a first premier card (vultures that they are) and 1 and 1/2 years ago we each had a 30 day late. other than that, all payments have been on time. i want to write goodwills to them to see if i can get the one late payment removed. has anyone dealt with them in this kind of matter? any luck? is there someone specific that i should contact? geterdone
I doubt this would help now since it has been so long ago, but my mortgage payment was late one time and I called them to say that I had mailed the check in plenty of time but that it got stuck in someone else's mail and never made it to them. Since we had never been late on that account before I was able to get them to remove the late status and late charges. Many years ago I got a flyer in the mail that was folded over and stapled. When I opened it, there was someone's electric bill that they had mailed stuck in it! That is where I got the idea from. Like I said, I doubt you can use this idea now but it may come in handy if you are ever late on anything again.~Jenn
ggluvbug
what i was thinking about saying was that i have been a good customer, how i am pleased with them, and how my husband had been out of work with an infection (which was true) and could they please consider taking it off. i just wondered if it was worth the effort though. don't want to write all kinds of letters is it won't get results. i have 5 months before we want to buy, and as someone so aptly put it...i am chasing points to get 100% financing. geterdone
I say go for it. At least you can say you tried. I would call them and if the frist person doesn't tell you what you want to hear, call back. I would call several times and if you still don't get anywhere then you could write to them.~Jenn
ggluvbug
well, i would definitely write. has anyone actually dealt with them?
boogaloo
I sent them a GW request last December. Basically explaining that the lates were due to extraordinary circumstances, that I have taken measures to ensure that it doesn,t happen again, etc...They turned my request down flat. I'm not giving up, though. I'm going to try again.
ggluvbug
what reason did they give? i spoke to someone today and they gave me another number, but i didn't get a chance to call that number. they didn't act like it was unheard of. i am crossing my fingers!
