score booster
Am considering being put on as AU on an account. Have two choices; an MBNA visa, opened 9/2000, 20,000 limit, 0 balance or a BANK ONE visa, opened 7/1998, 7,000 limit, 0 balance. Currently, I'm leaning more towards the Bank One card for it's age. Any suggestions??
DocPC
Why not get both? Any lates on these?
workinninetofive
I think both are good. I agree, why not both?
score booster
Nope, no lates. Neither card has had a high balance over $400. Hadn't really considered doing both. I have no interest in using either account; would just cut up the card/cards. I just want it for the boost. I think this would put my tu and eq over 700. score booster
Well, bank one said no problem-it would report on my three cra's. My mother gave them my name and address; they said they'd fire off a card. My response to her was "how can they report w/no ssn??" So she called back and spoke with a supervisor and he gave her the run-around saying it may or may not report, but not to worry-they don't need my ssn. What a crock. He then went on to say it would do more harm than good to my credit (if I went to buy a car etc.). That's a crock, too, as any lender knows I would not be responsible for the acct.....well, on to MBNA.
score booster
Update....the Bank-One card arrived (with a Chase logo...chase bought out bank one I presume). Anyway it did hit exp. and eq. on 3/31. Eq. went up 17 points on pg and exp. went up 10. We'll see what it does for the fico's soon! So much for the naysayers who insist it doesn't affect the score.Incredibly, it hit my reports with NO SSN provided...name and address only. MY father lives in the same town, same name. I can't believe they did this. Seems pretty irresponsible on their part.
