Sterling Bank problems

I've been disputing an account with them, and they keep verifying it, even though Sterling, FNBO, CCB, and Infobank all deny my account exists. Here's what Norm Vercammen, Sterling VP in charge of dicking me around, emailed me:

We have contacted FNBO and the following is their response:

The account was with a collection agency CCB but was closed back by them.

We are trying to get a hold of this customer to explain that this was a

Sterling account that charged off and then sold to FNBO. The account

hasn't been sold to anyone else. The reference that the customer makes to

Conseco is a mis-description on Experian that reflects FNBO/Conseco instead

of just FNBO. We are in the process of correcting this with the bureau.

You have the right, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, to dispute the

completeness and accuracy of information in your credit file. Any dispute

regarding your credit report should be made directly to the credit

reporting agency (Equifax, Experian, Trans Union). When a credit reporting

agency receives a dispute, it must reinvestigate and record the current

status of the disputed items within a "reasonable period of time," unless

it believes the dispute is "frivolous or irrelevant." If the credit

reporting agency cannot verify a disputed item, it must delete it. If your

report contains erroneous information, the credit reporting agency must

correct it. If a reinvestigation does not resolve your dispute, the Fair

Credit Reporting Act permits you to file a statement of up to 100 words to

explain your side of the story.

The Federal Trade Commission recommends that your dispute should be made in

writing to the Credit reporting agency. In addition to providing your

complete name and address, your letter should clearly identify each item in

your report you dispute, explain why you dispute the information, state the

facts, and request deletion or correction. You may want to enclose a copy

of your report with the items in question circled.

At Sterling Bank and Trust, FSB we pride ourselves in the service of our

customers. Therefore, if an error exists, we will cooperate with the

consumer reporting agency to correct any inaccurate information.

Thank You,

Norm Vercammen

I sent a DV letter on 3/21. Any suggestions on what the hell they mean here? Thanks!

I hope this man graduated 6th grade. I would print that out, send it to the EX and say not mine, proof attached. Hopefullly, it will just get deleted.
