Well I disputed NCO with the CRA and they verified my account, so I took a wild shot and emailed Mike Barrist of NCO a DV letter and what do you know 4 days later...................NCO IS GONE off all 3 reports. After reading all the post about NCO I was a little scared in dealing with them, but turns out it was no problem at all.

Re: Acct # xxxxxxxx

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is being sent to you in response to a notice sent to me on February 15, 2005. Be advised that this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice sent pursuant to the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (B) that your claim is disputed and validation is requested.

This is NOT a request for "verification" or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION made pursuant to the above named Title and Section. I respectfully request that your offices provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.

Please provide me with the following:

*What the money you say I owe is for;

*Explain and show me how you calculated what you say I owe;

*Provide me with copies of any papers that show I agreed to pay what you say I owe;

*Provide a verification or copy of any judgment if applicable;

*Identify the original creditor;

*Prove the Statute of Limitations has not expired on this account

*Show me that you are licensed to collect in my state

*Provide me with your license numbers and Registered Agent

At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have reported invalidated information to any of the 3 major Credit Bureaus (Equifax, Experian or TransUnion) this action might constitute fraud under both Federal and State Laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found on any of my credit reports by your company or the company that you represent I will not hesitate in bringing legal action against you for the following:

*Violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act

*Violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

*Defamation of Character

If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following Declaration, I will require at least 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease and desist.

Also during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with my legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing any information to a credit reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated or verifying an account as accurate when in fact there is no provided proof that it is.

If your offices fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request shall be sent to me immediately.

I would also like to request, in writing, that no telephone contact be made by your offices to my home or to my place of employment. If your offices attempt telephone communication with me, including but not limited to computer generated calls and calls or correspondence sent to or with any third parties, it will be considered harassment and I will have no choice but to file suit. All future communications with me MUST be done in writing and sent to the address noted in this letter by USPS.

It would be advisable that you assure that your records are in order before I am forced to take legal action. This is an attempt to correct your records, any information obtained shall be used for that purpose.

Best Regards,

VICTORY!!!

The empire known as NCO has been defeated!!! Recently I sent a DV letter about 3 weeks ago to NCO about an old account and just received a letter from Darth Lisa Strauss(Supervisor) stating that this account is closed and further attempts to collect this debt has CEASED!!!!

I just hope they didnt put anything on my CR's. Last I check they werent even on any of them.

Im glad ive found this site and I want to thank you guys for the wealth of info available here that helps out guys such as myself. It even helped me to give knowledge to my wife about her credit woes, now she is cool.

This site is truly jstincrdible!!!

This is my first post, so if I am bringing this up the wrong placee, please understand.

Over the last 6 months, my wife and I have had decent success in getting many negatives removed from our credit reports. However, there are still a few paid, but charged off accounts on our reports that haven't been removed. Would we benefit from "Debt Validation?"

We have at least paid these, but certainly want all of them gone, so we can get on with our lives in a positive fashion.

As a new user, I just want to say thanks for all the good information on this site.

Thanks.

I got the deleted....NCO is gone!!! Asset Acceptance is gone!!!

I disputed with CRA as not mine 1st

I disputed with CRA as providing inaccurate, erroneous info and file FTC complaint on each CA and CRA 5/16

I DV both.....

Just got notification online 6/14/05 both deleted...

My letters were not form letter though, I stated my case and that the info reported harmed my creditability and consumer file is erroneous. I stated that Asset is know to report inaccurate/and illegal re-age consumer files. Please delete.

Hi! Great job!

Were these accounts paid off when you began to dispute them?

I have 2 from NCO that I paid, I just want them off. Wondering if your strategy would work for me.

NCO has just recently showed on my CR's. I hadWest Asset on my back . Sent a DV, they send me back junk. After the 2nd DV they must of sold it to NCO. I sent a DV to NCO a few weeks ago and it is still not showing in dispute. I just let Mr. Barrist know that. Does anyone have experience with Superior Credit they are really a thorn in my side.

I too sent a letter to Mr Barrist. I first checked to see if he is still with the company via google. He is. I also BCCd a bunch of other email addresses at NCO as well, pretty high up just in case. I got a reply already today (same day sent) stating that she forwarded it to the collections department. She was pretty high up i guess. This is from the email:

I will post back my results. This is a pretty old post. But thought I would bring it back to life. And let people know if this will still work. The account was not mine, so I hope they are quick to delete it.

SO what kind of collection bills are these? I have one from Ameren UE (Utility bill) Its from 12/04. I have not paid on it. The amount is $384. Should I DV them, do you think it would be possible for them to validate? Just curious......I'd love to get it removed!
