deeclaire4040
I sent a method of verification to EQ CMRRR and it was signed for on 3/24. I get a letter yesterday from CSC stating that the request was sent to the affiliate bureau that handles my area. Did this letter reset the 15 days or is the clock still ticking from original received date of 3/24?
ghacorp
No clock was reset. There is NO time limit on debt validation! Either party may request or perform anytime and it doesn't matter how many dunning letters were received, even if for years.
deeclaire4040
I thought CRAs had 15 days to reply to a method of verification request. I guess I was wrong.
Recovering Attorney
If you DV'd a collection letter, there is no return time, as the the CA can simply stop collecting. If you are seekeing the CRA's method of verification, it is 15 days. But I would not raise a ruckus over this. And if the "local" is the one with the info, at least they are telling you they are on it. No court is going to give you anything for a deadline missed becasue they are being diligent. Under the circumstances, I would wait another 30 days before I got huffy. IMHO
DocDon
I would be surprised if you receive anything from them other than the standard form letter they send out in response to a procedural request.
