Mannerheim
Hello,I'm trying to figure out what approach to take in requesting a DV from an OC.I've read all over this site, and I'm kind of confused. I remember reading to send a letter similar to a regular DV for a collection agency, but then when I just reviewed the Debt Validation info page and flow chart, it says that the DV laws don't apply to OC's.Please advise. Thanks! DocDon
Validation is section 809 of the FDCPA.OC's are bound by different rules, like the TILA (Truth in Lending Act), the Fair Credit Billing Act and the UCC (Uniform Commercial Code). Mannerheim
Thanks Doc.I looked at that section of the law, and it appears that I have the right to a DV from an OC during the first 30 days only? What applies months or years later?Thanks!P.S. - I hope you're golfing today, it's gorgeous out there! DocDon
DV is for a CA. My bad, I should have explained further. The FDCPA is for CA's - not OC's.BTW... no golf. I was supposed to be laying mulch today, but I forgot to put down the Preen... moron am I.
