ThePeacock
My DW got denied for a basic B of A visa but was sent an offer for the $99 secured card with a $500 limit. Anyone have this card or heardanything about it. How does it report? What is the interest typically? How long does it take to get unsecured? Thanks

Xanathos
That was my "rebuilder" card. I didn't want to have the stench of First Premier on my reports, so gave them the 99 bucks. They bumped my credit limit up to 1000 and gave me my 99 dollars back after a few months. As it stands now, I've got a $15k card through them, prime APR, never had a billing hassle, etc. As a bonus through the whole thing, I racked up a bunch of airline milesGood card. ThePeacock
My DWs FAKOs were 578-600. Denied for the regular, accepted for the secured. Hope that helps.
Tourniquet416
hmm, it's been about two months since i applied and got my two starter cards. i'm still paying on all the charges first premier put on my card, so i haven't even used it yet. i wonder if i should get another one now. i really don't want a store card.---i just applied online and got denied, because i have unpaid charge-offs. rising_score
I tried calling BofA to ask about the $99/$500 secured card, and they just kept transferring me around to different people until I was disconnected. It sounds like you have to apply for another BofA card, get rejected, and then hope to get offered this card.
Average Joe
The 99/500 (paritally secured) BOA card is not listed on their website. What they normally do if you go to the local branch, is have you put in a regular application. If you are denied, they may offer you a partially secured or fully secured card as an alternative. My wife and I both applied at the same time. She has no credit history in the US (she if from South Africa). My wife was approved. I have scores from 563 - 603. I was denied because I still had an unpaid CO. They would not even offer me a fully secured card as an alternative. I also called and requested reconsideration, and was again denied for the same reason.I have heard these are great rebuilder cards. They report to all CR's and it looks just like a regular card. They also have added me as AU and I will be receiving a card in my name in a few days. That way I can also get the credit benefit of the card. Bjoeboo
Yup, me rejected too. Same reason. Very old CO from crap1Received rejection online instantly. Then received same rejection 2 weeks later in mail. No secured offer seen yet. They pulled Experian.

triton3k
can somebody direct me to where I can apply for this card. thanks.
Xanathos
Bank of America is almost exclusively TransUnion territory. And you can't apply for this card. The only way you can get it is if you apply for one of their other cards and are rebuffed.
kevmic
I was denied a BOA card but never got the prepaid card offer. They pulled Equifax for me. But I am in Atlanta and EQ is based here.
