Anyone have the Bank of America $99/$500 card?

Recommended Posts

That was my "rebuilder" card. I didn't want to have the stench of First Premier on my reports, so gave them the 99 bucks. They bumped my credit limit up to 1000 and gave me my 99 dollars back after a few months. As it stands now, I've got a $15k card through them, prime APR, never had a billing hassle, etc. As a bonus through the whole thing, I racked up a bunch of airline miles

Good card.

hmm, it's been about two months since i applied and got my two starter cards. i'm still paying on all the charges first premier put on my card, so i haven't even used it yet. i wonder if i should get another one now. i really don't want a store card.

i just applied online and got denied, because i have unpaid charge-offs.

I got mine when i was opening a account with BoA (checking) they asked if i wanted to use their Visa for my Overdraft.

i didn't get the Visa ( got turned down) they sent me the 99/500 card at that time . it dose not show as secured on my CR

on a side note i have had the card about 6 mon now no late payments but high utilization with no CLI

The 99/500 (paritally secured) BOA card is not listed on their website. What they normally do if you go to the local branch, is have you put in a regular application. If you are denied, they may offer you a partially secured or fully secured card as an alternative.

My wife and I both applied at the same time. She has no credit history in the US (she if from South Africa). My wife was approved. I have scores from 563 - 603. I was denied because I still had an unpaid CO. They would not even offer me a fully secured card as an alternative. I also called and requested reconsideration, and was again denied for the same reason.

I have heard these are great rebuilder cards. They report to all CR's and it looks just like a regular card. They also have added me as AU and I will be receiving a card in my name in a few days. That way I can also get the credit benefit of the card.
