tammi
I sent a letter via planetfeedback regarding 2 accounts ($248 and $50) to the CEO of Tenet Healthcare. Basically to make a long story short I sent a sob story about my situation and why I wasn't able to pay. I said that I had learned my lesson and I would pay the full amount if they agreed to delete from my reports. Received a response from CA (Central Financial Control) rejecting my offer. They said they would not remove the TL from my reports. They go on to say "under this office's obligations to and with the the CRAs, we are contractually obligated to report delinquent accounts." What should be my next step? The SOL for these accounts do not expire until 5/2006 and 7/2007 (4 years in Tx). I have these 2 TLs and 1 other TL that is past SOL before my report is completely clean. I would pay the full amount to get them removed. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
willingtocope
Hate to see people just hanging there without an answer...I'm not sure I'm correct, but here's my thoughts...Lastly, the CA remarks about them being legally required to report is pure BS. Nobody is legally required to report anything on your credit reports. They do so that everyone in their business knows your business.Firstly, I'd suggest a call to the Healthcare's account receivable department. Don't mention the letter, but tell them you just found them on your credit reports, you thought your health insurance had taken care of them, gee I'm sorry, but I really want to get this taken care of, what can you do to help? Here's a case where a phone call might be to the OC (never call a CA) might be better than a letter...I would bet the CEO has someone screening letters and just responding with a form letter... willingtocope
First, check you credit reports. If Healthcare entry says "charge off / sold to another lender" then you're stuck dealing with the CA, but that makes them a JDB which means they paid pennies on the dollar for the right to continue to hassle you. If this is the case, I'd suggest writing a letter (CMRRR) to the CA making them an offer, but only if they delete from your credit report (which they CAN do).On the other hand,if it hasn't been charged off, then call the OC again and keep working your way up he supervisor chain until you find someone that will talk with you. You may have to call the CEO directly...
