My score was at 599 FICO for Equifax(up from 493 in December) on 3/21/05. I received an updated report from Equifax removing two judgements which would bring my score above 600. So I went to My Fico to get an updated score and look out my score was 506!! The only things different were the two judgements were off and a charge off reporting on a single payment loan. I was very upset because I was making great strides and then someone pulled the rug out from under me. Anyway this was from a old checking accout that I guess got overdrawn by $300 from 6/02. I went to the bank and talked to the people. They stated they would update the account to show deposited related from the Single payment loan charge off. This is the OC is there anything I can do or how should I go from here? If removed will my score go back up to 600? Also they did a hard pull on my credit on 4/6/05 are they able to do this. That dropped my score another 4 points. Any advice?

This is bizarre why this happens - you and I both have no logical explanation for it. If there are no logical explanations, such as balance changes, new accounts, or other items that might change your score - it could be a very temporary. That charge-off, if it's brand new to your CR, can affect a score pretty heavily.

I saw this write up about fluctuations in score:

Hard pulls do require your specific authorization - and you can dispute hard pulls with the CRA. Be careful, though, as I've read disputing too many hard pulls can get your credit report locked out. Generally speaking, though, one pull won't affect a score much but will affect you when you try to get credit. If you're not planning on applying for credit in the next 6 months, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Score doesn't REALLY matter - I was denied CC's with a high 700's score for a $25 C/O. I'd be more concerned with getting the C/O off first as that will be a highly influential factor when applying for credit.
