2FixCredit
WTH?? Just got a check in the mail for 5,000 from Beneficial. Just sign and take to the bank and then pay the loan. First, I'm not real happy about a check coming in the mail that all has to be done is sign and you are on your way!! Little scary. But, was thinking of taking out a small loan at our local bank anyway to raise our score a bit by doing the payoff plan.....pay half, then half again, then 4 equal payments. Should I do this with this check instead??? Or since this is a finance type company should I stay away?? The good thing is I guess this means my credit is looking better, huh????!! DocPC
Check the usurious interest rate.....
kevin3344
The rate ends up being something like 25-35%, after you count all of the fees. It's a pretty popular thing for them, because how many people can turn down a "sign and cash" check they got in the mail? Not alot. No one except you can decide if it's beneficial for you; some people I know have taken out a loan like that and loved it, others have hated it...alot depends on your situation.________Breeana Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
2FixCredit
APR is 29.419%...ouch.How bad will that be if I do that payment plan though, I wonder?
kevin3344
I guess it depends how much you need the money. What are the terms? What will the payment be? Is there a pre-payment penalty? Just remember, once you cash it there's no going back, so think about it carefully.________Hyde Park Residence Condo Pattaya Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
2FixCredit
I don't need the money actually. Well, who doesn't, I just don't need another "loan" . But, I was interested in doing the loan that -I believe it was sisflomi-- talked about in the other forum. Basically take out a small loan, pay off half the first month, another half the second month, and divide up the remaining loan into 4 payments. I wouldn't actually use the money.....only use it to pay back to help get my credit score up by paying it back in the above way.So, either I do it with this check/loan or I will go to my credit union and try to get a small sig loan to do the same thing. That's basically what I was wondering....but I guess I'd get a better rate at my CU...and would probably look better on my credit than the one from Beneficial. kevin3344
Oh, if that's the case, then definitely use your CU! For some, that's not an option. But if you can do it, go for it. Either way, it's a good idea to pay it off in a short time period, maybe 50-25-25. Or something like that. I had a loan I paid off 50-20-20-10.________Cannabis Seeds Edited September 9, 2011 by kevin3344
score booster
You don't want a loan shark like beneficial polluting your cr's anyway; they're as predatory as first premier.
2FixCredit
Thanks, I will go with the CU then. I figured it would be better anyway.Yeah, I plan on paying it in increments such as that....probably paid back in 4-5 mos or so.
