Credit Inquiry letter, need input please.

I wrote this letter mainly for experian and Trans Union because I cant get them to investigate inquiries. On April 10 I sent out a letter asking them to verify the inquiry and im planning on sending this out May 10 to the companies that dont respond (I sent 15, and only two responded so far). Let me know if you think I should change anything... Thanks for your help.

On April 10, 2005 I sent a letter to you requesting that you provide me a reason on why your company obtained a copy of my credit report. I have received no response from your company in this matter. You are in violation of The Fair Credit Reporting Act, Sec 604, as I did not give permission to access my credit file. Unless you contact the three major credit bureaus (Experian, Equifax and Trans Union), within ten days of receipt of this notice and have this inquiry removed, I will have no choice but to take legal action. I am enclosing contact information to the credit bureaus to help aid you in the removal process. Please send me a copy of the deletion request that you send to the credit bureaus for my records.

I wouldn't sugest any legal action at this point, you get more with a kind word and honest denial. You can then tell them you really don't know how this got on your report and if they could delete it for you.

PS: Did you put your real name and DOB on the bottom of the page of your post? If you did I would go back to edit your post and delete that information.

thanks for the input. I already sent a nice letter, but only two replies so far.. the ones I got were more then happy to help. wish they all were,, but I have a feeling im being ignored.

If they are being idiots, and won't respond, just sue. Don't give them any warning. I don't make a habit of including my SSN on stuff either.

I really dont want to sue, I just want them off. Equifax deleted 8 out of 8 and I cant get experian or trans union to investigate.
