wvfireman1634
Ive tried to find the answer on my own but no luck, that being said here goes. I have disputed a hospital bill twice through experian, both times came back verified. I have sent two Validation letters to the CA, first one regular mail and the second registered mail, no response from either one. Am I correct in thinking this is "further collection activity" since they verified with the CRA and did not validate with me? If so, what should my next step be with the CA and the CRA? devil21
Collection activity only is required to stop if the DV is within 30 days of the initial communication. If your DV was not within that period they do have to validate but they do not have to stop activity.By the way, Experian will probably stop disputing after the 2nd time so be prepared to take other steps (suit). Recovering Attorney
At teh very least, the CA shoul dhave had the CRA display the items with a " customer dispue" tag. Their failure to do so may constitute a violation of the FCRA and FDCPA. Send them an ITS letter.
