dloran
I have to laugh when I see CapOne's commercials on TV where the other company always tells you no. Well that is basicly what I get anymore when I call CapOne. In the past I have had them remove 2 over the limit charges because of their mistake not mine. Well this month I took my credit limit to the limit and only left $1.04 on my card. Well I didn't take into account the dollar that the gas pumps verify before you get gas. None to say CapOne says I went over the limit and they charged me $29, when I called on it the first time I got someone that was truely honest and told me that she could not do anything about it and to call back during the day (I work swing shifts). when I called back the following day I recieved someone who was just down right rude. No matter how much I tried telling her where the mistake was made she would just fire back, you went over the limit just drop it. Then when I asked to be transferred to a supervisor she told me she couldn't do that either, I told her that it sound like she couldn't do much and was surpised that she was still breathing and hung up. Then called back this time the person actually aknowledged that I was right but she couldn't remove the overlimit fee so I asked to be transferred to someone who could, I got fowarded to security. I called right back after that and was sent to someone that is trained to deal with "forcefull" customers after talking with him and going over my account charge by charge he said he would put in a request to have my account credit back the overlimit fee, he said it would take three days for it to show on my account. So now I have to wait three days to see if anything is going to be done and another six months before they will concider raising my credit limit. So if you use your CC to purchace gas add that extra dollar on and pay very close attention to your statements if you end up with an over limit charge when you didn't think you where over, go back to your last 3 statements and add everthing up (payments and charges) then subtract charges from payments don't forget to add in interest on the charges side. If you come up in the black call them and get it straightned out right away, and remember the say they only allow 2 penelty charges to be dropped after that they can't do anything is BS if it is their vault make them do an investigation on it.Sorry so long just not happy with CapOne at this time. jpm121
Use your rights - within 60 days you can dispute any charge on your account (including the $29) and they must stop charging you interest on that amount, and conduct an investigation. If they fail to do so it's their funeral under the lending practices laws.
Flyingifr
Cap couldn't say "YES" if you offered them bags of gold bullion.I had (notice the past tense) an account with them. Ran my Credit limit from $300 to $7500 in 2 years - never a late payment, almost never a finance charge. Finally, I want to go to $10K line. Their answer "NO". $7500 is as far as they will let me go. Funny, Wells Fargo and Patelco Credit Union BOTH gave me 10K lines.I asked for "Retention" - saying I am ready to drop their card if they won't work with me. Their response - "This account is not coded for Retention", meaning go ahead and take your business elsewhere. No attempt to keep me as a customer. I asked them - am I the kind of customer you want to keep? Answer - "Yes". Then I ask - then why am I not coded for retention? No response.I kept asking questiuon after question, making request after request. Sure sounded like their commercial....NoNoNoNoNoNoNoNoNo.......
