DV questions for those that have done this before

Hello all, and thanks in advance for all the help!

I have a couple of questions around the DV process as I am about to enter into it. First, if you have paid the CA already, can you you still DV and are they required to respond in the same manner as if you did not pay? Aslo, if I did pay the CA previously, then DV them, and they do not validate, can I recover the money I paid them in court? Finally, in most peoples expierence, do the CAs tend to respond to DV letters or do they largely blow them off? I am dealing with Jefferson Capitol and IC Systems if anyone has ever dealt with them.

Thanks again!

Hi,

I am in the process of doing DV as well. I as well had IC Systems on my credit report. My first round of letters I sent regular mail like a big stupid and did not get a response from any of the credit except for IC Systems who promptly removed their info from my credit report.

I am in the process of waiting out the 2nd round which I sent Certified this time.. So hopefully I will have good news soon.

I had read enough on this board to send it CMRRR so I lucked out in this regard. I sent 5 letters at once CMRRR, IC, another CA, and the 3 CRAs. So far, TU is the only gree card I have got back. Hmmmm, I hope IC will sign for CMRRR. I have heard some of the CA will not

if they don't you can sometimes use that against them. if they refuse it, try sending a letter with a tracking number, but that doesn't require a sig. track it and print out the USPS page after it's delivered. then try sending your next letter (assuming they don't just delete) CMRRR again.... later you can argue in court that they 'consciously avoided knowing' that their info was bad.

The best procedure is to first send your DV letters, wait until you receive your green cards (CMRRR receipts) from the CAs, and then dispute with the CRAs. That way, if the CRAs verify the TL, but the CAs haven't yet validated the debt with you, then that is a FDCPA violation.

Interesting question, but I doubt it. Are they reporting a negative TL on your credit reports? I think probably the best you can hope for is a deletion of the negative TL.

thanks for the responses! I made the mistake of sending 5 cmrrr at once, 3 cra's and 2 to ca's. luckly, only TU green card came back before the 2 CAs. If they validate before the others come back, then I definitly have them! Excelllllent Smithersssss
