overos
One of the accounts I disputed on my Experian cr came back verified and when I checked out this creditor at the BBB, it stated they were no longer in business and their address was undeliverable.Any advice on what to do? DocDon
You can try a PR (procedural request) with EX, but they won't answer it (in violation of the FCRA).Try calling them and asking them how they verified the information from a company no longer in existance... Xanathos
No calling them. You've got a $3000 golden ticket.Send the PR like Doc said...they won't respond with what they have to (they never do).File a quickie small claims action ($1,000 for not honoring the procedural request, $1,000 for not properly investigating a disputed tradeline, $1,000 for not taking necessary steps to ensure maximum possible credit accuracy) and wait for the suit to call wanting to quickie setlte it out...UNLESS the debt has been sold to someone else who IS in business...or the company still has tentacles somewhere...make damn sure they don't exist before you press the issue.
