Sputnik
I've read the threads and I see lots of angst about this evil agency. Has anyone gotten them to delete? How about court. If I sue in small claims, would they bother showing up?Here's my scenario:I have a TL from them listing as sent to collections in 2002 for approx $80.00I disputed with CRA's to no avail--always verified.I DV'd them, got ignored, DV'd again, got ignored, sent intent to sue, got validation (statements) but account values don't match. Not only that, the statement is from a utility in 2000.Im wondering....should I just continue with filing suit and see what happens? Will they "surprise" me with new validating info at court?I know they wont PFD.
willingtocope
First, did they mark the TL as "in dispute" while you were sending multiple DVs? If not, then that's a clear violation of the FDCPA.IMHO, I'd go ahead and sue...I'd be amazed if they'd even bother to crank up a lawyer for $80...I'd bet you get an offer to settle before it even gets to court...
