steelman1023
I recently sent in a DV letter to all three credit bureaus disputing some hospital bills that were turned over to a collection agency. In these letters, I stated that I needed proof that I received late notices by certified mail or return receipts. Experian has already got back to me and deleted 5 out of 7 of my derogatories. I'm still waiting on the others. I don't remember ever receiving late notices. The burden of proof should be on the original creditors to prove that the consumer received the notices. breathing_easier
Did you mean to say that you sent DV letters to the collection agencies? You wouldn't send DV letters to the CRAs. You can dispute TLs with the CRAs, or send Method of Verification letters to the CRAs if a negative TL comes back verified, but not a DV letter. The CRAs have nothing to do with late notices, collections, etc., other than reporting them based on information submitted to them by an OC or CA/JDB.
