I sent out two MOV letters for an Paid , settled account I disputed as not mine , that Exp verified.

I sent the first MOV letter , waited the 15 days + mail time after they recieved it ......no response from them . So I sent out the second MOV letter and included a copy of my first letter and reciepts and stated that if they cant provide MOV they need to delete the account , they have 15 days to respond.

I have not heard anything from them and its been just a day shy of the 15 + 5 days time limit on the second round of MOV . So what is my next step. Do I wait a while and send another MOV and demand if they dont respond they have to delete account ?

Or since I have sent two consecutive MOV letters already , do I just send a letter stating they failed to respond to MOV so I want the account removed from my CR ?

What would be best ?

Thanks... :D

If I recall, MOV letters have no timeline for return contact.

I may be wrong....

Only DV letters have timelines....

I would telephone the credit agency and see what its intentions are.

Worked for me with a DV letter a few weeks back.

Yes, MOV letters must be responded to within 15 days:

No, dispute letters to the CRAs have a response deadline of 30 days. Debt validation (DV) letters to a CA have no response deadline. They just can't continue collection activity until they do validate, and they can't verify the account with a CRA if they haven't validated.

credit-nightmare: Two MOV letters is sufficient. Now demand deletion of the TL.

This comes from the "Method of Verification" link, above:

If they [CRA] refuse [to delete], inform them you will sue for willful non-compliance under section FCRA § 616.

If they still refuse, send the information via certified letter along with an intent to sue letter. If not, they will give you a new confirmation number (write it down! and the date!). This acts as a new investigation, and the CRA has 30 days to get back to you.
