libertyjeep
Does anyone have info on pros and cons of the shopping card USA Gold-trying to reestablish credit and having a tough time getting cards. Thanks!

libertyjeep
Do you recommend this card for credit reestablishment? I am not sure whether or not to get it. Thanks again!
Tourniquet416
i've heard bad things about it on this site.
jq26
© THE COST TO ENROLL IN THE USA CREDIT PLAN IS $149.95. (D) YOU MAY AT ANY TIME PAY OFF THE FULL UNPAID BALANCE UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WITHOUT PENALTY OR ADDITIONAL COSTS. ONLY MEMBER ADVANTAGE ITEMS MAY BE CHARGED ON THE USA CREDIT SHOPPING CARD. Sounds like a complete rip off. A $150 enrollment fee to buy ONLY the company's sh*t is absurd.
devil21
First, its not a real credit card. Its a buying club that supposedly reports to the CRAs. They get your money and who is to say they won't just forget to report? I would run from an offer like that. Second, have you tried the standard avenues of First Premier, First Natl Bank of Marin, etc? Usually one has to be dead before they get rejected for those cards..... jq26
How about a secured card- try the American Pacific Online Secured Card. Total fees per year are $39. They accepted me 6 days after my BK discharged and reported to all three bureaus within two weeks as an unsecured card. If they accepted me (middle FICO was in upper 400s), then they will most likely accept you. That raised my score into a range where I got a Target Guest Card, then two months later an Orchard Bank (Household) unsecured. Then after all of these cards reported about a month later, Providian gave me a Platinum card with no fees and 0% balance transfers. Now I have leverage to tell the other card issuers to shove their annual fees or forget my business. Follow the advice of the sticky on the top of this forum that has to do with what credit cards to apply for. And I wouldn't over reach- you'll just get denials and hard inquiries which will lower your score even more. Good luck!
Xanathos
I know USA gold reports to TU if that's what your after. I found a 5k tradeline on Chickie's report when I started cleaning hers up...took me forever to figure out what it was.Reports limit (which was good since she never used it) but one thing I noticed was they only reported for like 4 months...there was no data submitted to TU after that time frame. Not sure if that's cause she never used it or if it was because they just don't report very long, but something to watch for if you go that route. So far I have aquired the first premier bank card and will look into the other cards you have suggested!
PeteDude
I've made a few purchases, and they've put positive marks on my reports. Other than being overly expensive and not financing electronics purchases, they've been OK so far.
