CreditKeeper.com - Not recommended

My experience with this company:

Joined on a 30-day free trial on Feb 1st. Receive the confirmation email; login to the site, poke around a bit and then click to order my FREE (the carrot of the 30-day free trial) 3-bureau report with one Credit Score. Screen asks for a number that I did not receive in confirmation email, and states that if I have not received it within 5 days to c0ntact 1-800-can't-ever-get-thru. I send a couple of emails over the next few weeks, also, with no response. During the last week of the 30 day period, I send an irate email outlining the entire experience and demand confirmation of my cancellation. No response.

Fast forward: On March 14th (2 weeks after the 30 day trial ended), I receive a 'membership booklet' via US mail, with a customer number. Just for the heck of it, I go back to the site and try it. No luck, didn't expect it to work. I email AGAIN demanding confirmation of my cancellation, with a 'god-help-you if you charge my card' note, and asking them if this is standard practice, to string people along until the 30 days is up so that they can charge them.

A week later, I get a one line email from CreditKeeper: "Your membership has been cancelled."

NOT recommended!

Sorry to hear you have had problems with them. I have been using MCK for several months now with no problems. The only concern I have with them is they only alert you to changes in your credit report if they feel it is fraud related. When I disputed with Cavalry and the notation was made on my report of my dispute, I was not notified of the change. When I spoke with customer service, they said that notifications were if they suspect fraud, not if the consumer initiated the response.

Yeah, I'd have to agree that MCK has been good [for me]. I'm still on my 30-day trial period & have no complaints. Now...I must admit though that signing up was ALMOST a pain. I had PG prior to signing up but wasn't able to reap the benefits of it (it canceled online reports right b4 I signed up for it). So, when I tried to sign up for MCK a day after canceling PG, it refused to let me. I was frustrated for a few days until I realized that they wouldn't let me sign up using the same credit card # that I used for PG. So...I whipped out another one (that's not mine :p ) and VIOLA!!! Not a problem since.:-)

Luna: Just noticed that you're also in SE Michigan. So welcome from one Michigander to another. :)++

If you signed up with MCK just a few weeks ago then you should still be in your 30-day free trial. It's still being offered to all first-time users of MCK. If they've already charged your card you may want to give them a call.

Jack: I got that message for about two hours yesterday (5/5) and then I was finally able to pull my report. Initially I kept getting an error message that I was unable to log on using the information provided so I called MCK's Technical Support and was told the site was down. A few minutes later the "Site Temporarily Down" message came up. Was able to pull this morning with no problem. Have you called Technical Support?
