rising_score Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 In today's mail, I received this letter from Equifax. I am not sure why they sent it because I do not have any more disputes currently open with them:Your request concerning your Equifax credit file has been received and we look fowward to assisting you. To protect the confidentially of your file, please forward to us the items listed below. This information is needed to process your request. Please send a photocopy of the following:. Social Security Card or Pay Stub with Social Security Number. Driver's license. Utility bill or lease Agreement (item must contain current address)The form also has a place where they want me to list Major Credit Card Account NumbersI just thought this was strange. Do you think they sent it because I have fraud alerts on my files? Has anyone else received this?
Revco Posted May 8, 2005 Report Posted May 8, 2005 The only thing I can think of here is that they're verifying your identity. Have you moved or changed personal info lately? That's pretty odd considering you don't have disputes going on.I would ignore it. If all your info is correct...why would they possibly need it?Never give out your account numbers!!
