EQUIFAX DISPUTE - LOST 90 POINTS

Recommended Posts

I AM SOOO MAD I CAN ONLY SEE RED RIGHT NOW. I DISPUTED INFORMATION WITH EQUIFAX (GOT INQUIRIES AND ITEMS REMOVED) ALSO VERIFIED BY SOME COLLECTION AGENCIES THAT ITEMS DIDN'T EXIST (THAT EQUIFAX SO-CALLED VERIFIED AS TRUE); THEY REMOVED 6 ITEMS FROM MY REPORT AND MY SCORE DECREASED BY 90 POINTS. HOW CAN THIS BE?... I WANT TO CRY RIGHT NOW AND JUST PLAIN GIVE UP. MY SCORE WENT FROM 560 TO 465 IN ONE MONTH AFTER NEGATIVES WERE REMOVED. HELP!

Were these some of the older accounts on your CR? If so, that could be the problem. Your score takes into account how long your credit history is...the longer, the better.

Also...are these FICO scores or FAKO scores? If they're FAKOs, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Try pulling your "real" scores and see what they are.

Even if they are real scores, they should rebound quickly if you open some new accounts and let them age (keeping up with the payments, of course). With a few months of good payment history, your scores should be on the rebound.

Good luck!!

It's soo disheartening (is that a word?LOL) -- I almost feel as though I was better off keeping all of the negative information on the report and I would have remained 560; no, I think im doing the right thing by removing the stuff and look what happens. How the heck am i going to obtain credit now, when two of my credit scores are in the 400's?!... I guess I should forget about getting prequalified for a mortgage. Yes, I am feeling sorry for myself -- but I was soo happy to be FIXING things... and feel like it was shoved right up my behind. My new idea (joking, of course) -- is to leave the country and come back as an illegal alien -- maybe I can obtain a new social security number and get some free loans to buy cars, start a business and get a house. Its soo funny (ironic/sarcastic funny) that in my neighborhood half of the people don't speak english -- but they are driving new Escalades and own their own houses and also have started their own businesses. How do these people get their credit checked?... I feel as though I am financing their american dream, meanwhile I live a life of shame/guilt for past mistakes. Well thank you all for hearing me out!... sorry for the babbling! LOL :D

My score is slowly bouncing back..... after my ONE deletion dropping from 563 to 413. I checked again on 04/16 it was 512 and on 05/07 it is at 531 and this is after no activity. Although I am still disputing so we'll see. Looks like there is hope :)

Thanks for the reply... makes me feel a lil better... :p; Was watching TV last nite when they were talking about America being a melting pot... I thought to myself... the only true americans are the ones with a credit score... how pathetic...

I am working on fixing things... a friend of mine put a credit card in my name... and I just joined our local credit union and I am also waiting for orchard to determine if i qualify for one of their secured cards... so wish me luck...
